‘Your supervisor will be informed’: Security employee writes up CEO for using main building entrance after he's advised by manager to refuse entry to all staff members

You'd be a bit annoyed if, out of nowhere, certain familiar tasks that are a part of your day-to-day duties were suddenly disrupted by an additional outlandish duty. Managers who typically get by on doing the least amount of work possible (except for bossing their subordinates around) are guilty of participating in such nonsensical practices. Most of the time, higher-ups don't know what they're talking about regarding their subordinates' duties and just hand out tasks for the heck of it.

In this next story, a hospital security employee was told to enforce a staff rule that they are not allowed to enter through the main entrance of the hospital building. The security guard explains that they'll no longer be able to focus their attention on real threats such as AWOL patients and the like. So, he decides to grill the next employee who walks through the door. This just happens to be the CEO and some very important investors. Scroll to read.

  • Working armed security at a hospital is a stressful task as is, so it's completely understandable that the security employee is fed up with this new rule. The security employee presumably identifies every staff member's badge/credentials, so the threat of anyone entering the hospital who shouldn't is very low. As a result of this nonsense, the security employee takes matters into his own hands and starts a long list of folks participating in insubordination, and the CEO takes the top spot.

  • It turns out, the CEO of the health system was bringing a group of potential investors (the aforementioned gaggle) for a tour of the place. He was never informed of the main entrance policy change, and was greatly embarrassed to be stopped at the entrance of his own hospital by some rent-a-cop.
